Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup REVS up its 20th year in Steamboat Springs Print or download the PDF of this release by clicking here. On Friday, Mustang owners compete in a timed autocross skills test designed to pit the agility of drivers and their favorite Mustangs against one another. Saturday is a "Show and Shine" on Lincoln Avenue, where the hoods are raised, the bumpers are shiny and a line of classic Mustangs stretches as far as the eye can see. Colorado Mustang enthusiast, Bob Syrotchen, has been involved with the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup for five years and acts as the event’s Judging Chairman. “I am involved because I am a Mustang guy,” Syrotchen said. “I love this whole weekend and seeing other Mustang clubs from around Colorado. My favorite part of the whole weekend, though, is the drive up to Steamboat Springs.” Mustangs of all models, shapes, sizes, and colors will be on display, turning the downtown streets of Steamboat Springs into a colorful and lively Mustang landscape. Steamboat Springs is no stranger to fast cars, impressive detailing and hardcore car talk. This year’s event marks the 20th Anniversary of the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, the last 10 years have been in Steamboat Springs. “We love hosting the event here in Steamboat Springs,” says Brett Abbott, 2008 Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup President. “Whatmakes this event great every year is the scenery and the people here in Steamboat Springs.” Abbott added, “We are expecting 550 Mustangs this weekend from 17 states; this is more participants than any other year and our first year ever having to cap the amount of participants.” The best part of the event is that you don’t have to be a car enthusiast to take part in the action. The events are open to the public and are free of charge. “Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup has become a staple of the summer events in Steamboat Springs. It is an incredibly unique and exciting event that brings people from all walks of life to our hometown,” says Kara Givnish, Special Events and Sponsorship Director at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association. “You couldn’t ask for a better way to celebrate Father’s Day Weekend than getting lost with the family among the 500 plus Mustangs that will be around town all weekend long,” Givnish added.
