Lynna Broyles Named Marketing Director and Riley Polumbus Promoted to Communications Director at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO—The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association has named Lynna Broyles the new Marketing Director effective March 14, 2005. Simultaneously, SSCRA Public Relations Director Riley Polumbus has been appointed to Communications Director effective immediately. Broyles and Polumbus will assume the responsibilities from Kim Mitchell who after five years as Director of Marketing and Online Communications for the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association, will move on to pursue her interest regarding the integration of technology towards effective business solutions. “We are very excited to welcome Lynna to our marketing team. Her resort marketing experience, knowledge of Steamboat Springs and positive energy will play an integral part in the overall strategic goals and initiatives that the SSCRA marketing team has developed for the community,” said Sandy Evans Hall, executive vice president of SSCRA. Lynna Broyles comes to the Chamber Resort Association from the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation, having served for two years as Marketing Coordinator, managing local and regional marketing and advertising plans, creative and collateral development, and database management. In her new position Broyles will oversee all components of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association’s marketing plan, facilitate and lead the marketing committee, as well as oversight of the regional and national advertising and promotional activities including direct mail and cooperative advertising campaigns. "I am excited for the opportunity to expand my role to include all aspects of resort marketing,” Broyles said. "I am looking forward to making a positive contribution towards the efforts of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association and becoming more involved in the community.” Prior to her position at the Steamboat Ski Area, Broyles worked as a sales manager for the New Mexico Adventure Company before moving to Colorado in the fall of 1999. Broyles, originally from Amarillo, Texas, is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Marketing. For nearly two years, as the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association’s PR Director, Riley Polumbus has headed media relations, acted as the spokesperson, and had oversight of the Chamber’s local publications. With her promotion Polumbus will continue with all public relations duties and additionally will manage the content and Search Engine Optimization program for the Chamber Resort Association’s two websites www.steamboatchamber.com and www.steamboatsummer.com. Polumbus began her PR career with the Steamboat Ski Area, before joining the marketing team at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association in May 2003. In addition to two winters of PR experience at SSRC, she worked with the Ski Area’s web department as a Straight Talk Reporter and author of the online magazine, “Ski Town Spirit.” A native of Colorado, Polumbus moved to Steamboat Springs in 1999 where she started working at Steamboat Central Reservations®. She attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She is actively involved in the community as a volunteer for Routt County Search & Rescue and is an avid supporter of local arts. “Lynna and Riley’s specific marketing skills and experience compliment each other well and should prove to be a winning combination," said Evans Hall. Prior to her departure, Mitchell will work with Polumbus on the transition and launch for the new websites designed by RTP/Internet Solutions. Other technical needs of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association Mitchell previously provided will be outsourced to local service providers. |
