STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO - Summer's days are numbered, yet Steamboat Springs' events keep on coming.  Whether travelers are looking to escape the heat for a cool mountain getaway, an event to entertain or a place to play, Steamboat in the Summertime has something for everyone this August.

Week One: Experience all the Cultural and Culinary Arts Steamboat Springs has to offer while tasting a few new wines at the 3rd Annual Beaux Arts Festival and Art Car Stampede, August 4-14 and the 2nd Annual Steamboat Wine Festival, August 4-7.  Wine tastings, a Steel Chef culinary competition, food and wine seminars along with wine makers dinners are all part of the Steamboat Wine Festival complimented by the outdoor ambiance of the beautiful Yampa Valley.  Top it off with the visual, musical and performing arts of Steamboat Springs' Beaux Arts Festival.  This one-of-a-kind arts festival highlights the myriad of the arts that exist in Steamboat Springs from performances by the historical Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp and Strings in the Mountains Music Festival to exhibit at the historic Eleanor Bliss Center for the Arts at the Depot, and the popular mobile exhibit: the Art Cars Stampede.  Visit www.steamboatwinefestival.com for Steamboat Wine Festival ticket information and details. Visit www.steamboatspringsarts.com for more information on the 3rd Annual Beaux Arts Festival.  For comprehensive information on events, activities or to book a vacation visit www.steamboatsummer.com.

Week Two: New this summer for cyclists looking to get in one more long ride is Kent Eriksen's Tour de Steamboat, August 12-13.  Rocky Peak Productions presents the first annual revival of the Tour de Steamboat (1975-1985).  This non-competitive century ride brings cyclists through Northern Colorado's most scenic roadways, starting and ending in Steamboat Springs.  The pre-ride dinner Friday night features former pro cyclist Andy Hampsten, and will benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation. For more information on Kent Eriksen's Tour de Steamboat visit www.rockypeakproductions.com. The 3rd Annual Beaux Arts Festival continues into week two as The Emerald City Opera presents The Merry Widow, August 12 & 14.  The Emerald City Opera brings big time Opera performers to a small town and then takes it to another level.  Performers from Opera Companies around the country join local talent in several performances of The Merry Widow during the Beaux Arts Festival. www.emeraldcityopera.org. Steamboat Springs Free Summer Concert Series continues with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in concert, August 13.  Gates open at 5:30 at the base of Howelsen Hill.  For general summer information or to book a vacation visit www.steamboatsummer.com.
