Labor Day Weekend in Steamboat is packed with the entertainment in the air, on the mountain and all over town! It's a Labor Day celebration for the whole family. The Wild West Airfest features remote controlled aircraft shows, vintage and warbird aircraft displays, classic cars, hang gliders, para-gliders, kids’ activities and much more! The Steamboat Stockdog Challenge is back! If you love dogs, you won't want to miss these amazing animals herding sheep in this great competition on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Plus our semi-annual downtown sidewalk sale is a Steamboat tradition that you don't want to miss! The Rocky Mountain Bull Bash on Sunday tests cowboys’ skills on top-ranked bulls with a big cash prize for the winner.

Celebrate Labor Day weekend with the Wild West Air Fest in Steamboat Springs. Head out to the Steamboat Springs Airport for airplane and helicopter rides, vintage and warbird static aircraft displays, classic car display, remote controlled airplane shows, kids’ activities and much more. New this year, the event will host special guest speaker Ralph Hood www.ralphhood.com, a Fortune 100 Trainer who was recently featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and who has entertained and enlightened audiences from Hawaii to Spain. A motivational speaker with a focus on aviation, Hood is a member of the Alabama Aviation Hall of Fame and a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) with the National Speakers Association. Hood will speak on both Saturday and Sunday in Mountain FlightService hangar at the airport. Parking shuttles will be available to and from the Steamboat Springs Airport and the Stockbridge Transit Center on the west end of town.
Purchase your Wild West Air Fest admission button at the Steamboat Springs Visitor Center, at the gate on the day of the event or by calling Steamboat Central Reservation toll-free 877-754-2269. Buttons are $5 for adults and $3 for children 6-12 years of age. Kids 5 and under are FREE! Buy your admission button once and you'll have unlimited access to the airport and all of the festivities all weekend!
Don't forget to check out the hang gliders and para-gliders as they take to the skies over the ski area in the afternoon. After that, head downtown for the “Come Sale Away” sidewalk sale. Beginning on Saturday, you can see working dogs herd sheep lead only by whistle and hand commands from their trainers at the Steamboat Stock Dog Challenge. On Sunday evening, see professional cowboys risk it all in the Rocky Mountain Bull Bash at the Romick Arena downtown.
